As I have stated previously, the core values of the law of attraction resonate highly with my understanding of life and reality. For this reason I have dedicated a fair amount of time to the research and study of its core values. But when it comes to the law of attraction, theoretical research can only take you to a general comprehension of this subject. True understanding is acquired by experience and by close attention to our emotions and thoughts.
For me law of attraction is simply the lenses through which I have chosen to experience life.
Once I made this conscious decision, I noticed some significant changes about the way I saw myself, my surroundings and the way I saw and interacted with others.
The most important changes I experienced can be resumed as follows:
Responsibility
One of the first things in my life that changed after I started learning about the law of attraction was a deep sense of responsibility for my life’s circumstances.
I understood that every single thing around me was a product of my own creation. My financial situation was a result of my own neglect; I was the one who had chosen to maintain unhealthy relationships with people who cared very little for my well-being; I was the one who had settled for an unfulfilled job, etc.
I was not a victim, because no one else but me was responsible for my unhappiness.
The same way, I rejoiced about all the positive things in my life, because that too was my creation.
Responsibility is not about blaming someone, is about power. If you believe others to be responsible for your circumstances, you relinquish the power to change such circumstances. Once you understand that you are responsible for your life, you understand that you have the power to change everything about it.
Power
Someone very wise once said that with great power comes great responsibility. I believe it also works the other way around: with great responsibility comes great power.
Understanding that I am the creator of my reality is a powerful realization. For a moment I stood still and my mind was filled with fear. It was like waking up behind the control board of a lighting speed space ship: Yes, it is great and all, but how the hell do I drive this thing?
But you learn. You do your research, you read and you listen and you also think and analyze. And after a while you learn to drive the spaceship of your mind. Believe me, is one hell of a ride.
Courage
Responsibility brings power; power well-developed brings confidence and with confidence comes courage.
I am not talking about dumb put-your-head-into-a-lion’s-mouth kind of courage. I am referring to the kind of courage that it takes to understand that life is about growth, about change and about risk. The kind of courage that we need in order to build a rewarding life.
Life is a continuous learning experience, and even when we understand and accept that we are the creators of our own reality, the path ahead of us will have its ups and downs. Otherwise, life would be very boring and pretty much pointless. To face the fact that we are responsible for everything that comes into our awareness takes courage.
Once we develop a sense of responsibility for our manifestations and we acknowledge the power we have over our reality, we inevitably have to choose if we want to live a meaningful life based on our intentions or if we are better off living by autopilot. This is a choice we have to take consciously, and once we do, knowledge and opportunities to grow will unfold in front of our eyes.
Courage is essential if we want to grow.
Acceptance
When I understood that everything around me was the result of my allowance, I had to let go judging and I start to accept it all, even the things I did not understand and the things I previously disliked.
I understood that even the things I did not want in my life also had a reason to be. By experience that which I disliked, it became even clearer the things I wanted.
Every time I find myself in a negative situation, I accept that this is my creation and I meditate to understand how this negative situation can improve my knowledge about the things I want to create in my life.
Only by exposing ourselves to the darkness, we can truly appreciate the light.
Joy
Probably one of the most important lessons that the law of attraction has taught me is that life supposed to be fun and rewarding.
Joy, happiness and fulfillment are the best indicators that we are in alignment with our life purpose. It does not matter if you believe in the law of attraction or not. It does not really matters what you believe or the lack of any belief at all, there is not a human being on this planet that could possibly feel other that joy when his actions are directed towards that which he or she came to do.
And if you feel lost, then do not look for your path in order to feel happy; do whatever it takes to feel happy and in that place of joy your path will show itself to you. As long as we are able to feel we can never be truly lost.
Life might be a one-chance game, but it is a game after all and it is meant to be enjoyed.
Go Deeper
I invite you to let yourself experience the law of attraction from the inside. Let your conclusion surge from experience. Do not allow yourself be dragged by misconceptions and ignorance and allow yourself to learn and understand fully a subject before you conclude that it does not make sense in relation to your current beliefs.
I challenge you to set a month of deliberate creation and play with the law of attraction for 30 days. If you engage with an open mind and an open heart for this period of time, I guarantee that by the end of the trial period you will have experienced some or all the above effect.
Make the effort to research beyond that one source of information and in the worst of cases you will get out with deeper knowledge about it, even if it is to conclude that is simply not your thing.
This is a very sensible take on the law of attraction. I used to date a guy who was so into this. The problem though was he was not being holistic to the entire practice. All he was focusing on was how to attract the things he wanted to have in his life. I observed that the universe always had given him what he thought he wanted. The problem was, he kept on wasting those wishes granted. He didn’t do his part. He was not responsible, not courageous and not confident. He was not able to nourish his light. He was overcame by his darkness. I still make a conscious effort everyday of my life to practice this and make it a habit. 🙂 I believe that led me to this blog entry as well.
The thing is, we will never get ALL that we want, because as soon as we find ourselves in the place we wanted to be, we will thrive for something else, something better, something different and this is ok. Life is everlasting change and the craving for more is what drives to be better day after day. The important things is to understand that what matters is not the outcome, but the process and learning to enjoy the process is fundamental to our overall happiness. I’m glad you liked!
Julio, thanks for your wisdom.
And thank you for visiting my site. I really do appreciate.
I’m glad you are on your path with purpose.
And that the law of attraction defines everything around you, rather than everything around you defining everything around you…
You have the greatest understanding.
Keep it that way.
And please, keep sharing.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I really resonate with what you’ve written here, however I often find that doubt creeps in when it comes to the law of attraction Do you have any methods for countering such doubt?
Thanks for the follow as well. I look forward to reading more of your blog!
