“Train yourself to let go… of everything you fear to lose.”
-Yoda
How to embrace change is not always easy to answer, yet change is inevitable.
We humans tend to cling to practically everything: things, places, people and emotions; and this is the reason why today has become so difficult to embrace change. Such a bad habit.
But we cannot avoid change. It will happen, whether we like it or not.
Let It Go
Everything we have and own will be gone sooner or later. We will leave the places we love and someday we won’t be able to see the people we care about. All our material possessions will be gone too.
This might seem a rather depressing view; however, I find it to be very powerful. When we realize that all we have, physically and emotionally, is temporary, I believe we can appreciate it better.
When you think that a particularly important person in your life will be gone someday, or that you will be out of his/her life (and this is inevitable) you might feel anxiety at first, but if you get pass that, an immediate feeling of love invades you and an urge to make time count is inevitable. This is the way our relationships should feel all the time, because change is inevitable and the truth is that someday they will be gone.
Accepting the inevitability of change also help us realize the mortality of material possessions and subconsciously accepting our own mortality.
Realize that all you have, all the things you have accumulated over the year will be gone some day too. Everything will be gone and forgotten and there is nothing you can do to avoid it. You can spend your life gathering more things, more awards, more badges and yet the only things that will matter to you at the end of your life will be the memories, the experiences and the emotions evoked.
Live Now
Embrace change today, and accept it is inevitable, that everything you have will be gone. Learn to appreciate your now, learn to love those around you today.
so true. nothing is forever. really nice article you wrote here.
Thanks! I’m glad you liked!
Hi, a great article on letting go, accepting change and handling fear. 🙂
Change is the engine of our evolution. No change – no development! Great post!

Totally agree!!!
It is because of our mind that always record our past. When change occurs, our egos created from mind cannot stand. They will find way to protect themselves. It is time to detach them and let change happens to us. ; )
Love and relationships are what matter most and even they change or disappear. Nice article reminding us to be in the moment!
[…] lose everything. Accepting the fact that “Nothing last forever” will help us. This is a post that i stumble upon yesterday, the post is about this one also. Letting […]
All I got is…AMEN!
Thank you for reading my first blog, ‘Afraid to love” This post relates to that attitude and its time to lose that fear. I have let myself love , my pets, my partner. I have had a loss in my life that I haven’t come to terms with. I can ignore it now…but it comes back not like it used to. It almost killed me. Now that I’ve gotten older and calmed down , trying to live a good peaceful life…its easier, and I do see your blog can be very helpful and enlightening to me. thank you.
