What have you done today to be better?
What choice did you make today that puts you one step closer to a particular dream or goal?
Any progress, regardless of its size is better that none at all and inaction is also a decision. Avoiding taking action is a choice by itself.
Wondering how to make your dreams come true is a good start, but planning should never be an excuse for inaction. When you find yourself thinking too much or too hard without coming to a satisfying conclusion, the best thing you can do is act right in the moment. Make a choice, any choice and improvise on your way down, or on your way up; it doesn’t matter as long as you shake off that feeling of lethargy that paralyze us.
Our dreams and goals should be big. Someone said that when our dreams don’t scare us, they are not big enough. I agree. But the size of our actions has nothing to do with the size of our dreams. Improvement is not measured by big successes, but by milestones achieved consistently one after the other.
The Great Wall of China wasn’t built by throwing every single stone at the same time. It was build by placing one piece at the time.
So start building your Great Wall today. Not tomorrow, or the day after. You don’t have to wait until “the moment is right” because there is no better moment to start than today. Maybe you won’t be able to go from 0 to 100 today, but if you can go from 0 to 1, you are on your way to greatness.
Do something every day that makes you closer to your dreams. Read one page of a book that you believe it could help you acquire the knowledge you require, listen to a Podcast on a subject related to your goal, save US$10 to a “dream account” created to fund your goal or dream.
“How to make your dreams come true” is not really a question that should be answered with a “how to”, but a matter of “When”; and the answer is always the same: Now!
One day at a time, right? My question to myself is, WHY is always so hard to remember this? And, why, does inaction feel so good sometimes?
“When our dreams don’t scare us, they are not big enough.” Great quote!
I completely agree with the sense of urgency “because there is no better moment to start than today.” time is the most precious thing that we have, and having a vision and resilience to pursue it. Great Post.
so TRUE! Great post 🙂
Great post! Thank you!
True. Present moment is the only life…
Wonderful post! Sometimes I need a good kick in the right direction, and this was exactly what I needed today! So thank you! 🙂
okay this was motivating and quite practical with the idea to act in the moment. But I believe our true dream are not so structured or organized that walking step by step leads to its fulfillment. Some dreams including fighting chronic health problems, family problems, financial constrains, government constraints make us slow down to a very great extent. If your intuition guides you toward your purpose of soul on different territory it just becomes tiring fighting against all odds mentioned in previous line. But I understand what you wish to convey in the post. The Buddha ideology confirms the says. It is the “now” that is the beautiful present we all posses.
